National Farmers’ Market Week at Mashpee Farmers Market

It’s hard to believe we’re already halfway through the inaugural season of the Mashpee Farmers Market. As we celebrate National Farmers Market Week, we’re taking a moment to reflect on everything that’s working—and the many reasons we’re grateful for this community.

What’s Working at the Mashpee Farmers Market

Vendor and Customer Relationships

Our vendor and customer relationships have been an apparent success. With more than 35 regular vendors and 25 rotating ones, the diversity of products has been incredible. The market has genuinely showcased what Massachusetts offers, from fresh produce, seafood, and meats to baked goods, flowers, and local beer. These strong partnerships are the foundation of our market’s success.

Live Entertainment

Thanks to Naukabout Beer Garden, we enjoy live music every Sunday. Performers of all ages and styles have shared their talents with us, creating an atmosphere full of life and local pride. Whether grabbing breakfast or sipping a lemonade, music’s always in the background to enhance the market experience.

A Place for Kids

We’ve been lucky to have Oplaysis join us each week, giving kids a space to be themselves. With a “pay what you can” model and open arms, they’ve created a joyful environment where children can play, make, and enjoy Sunday mornings.

The Mashpee Community

This market is volunteer-run, and the support from the Mashpee community has been nothing short of amazing. From helping to set up tents to offering a kind word over the lemonade stand, your presence makes each Sunday morning unique. Clearly, this market belongs to everyone—and that’s precisely how we want it to feel.

Dogs Welcome

We’ve noticed how respectful and thoughtful our visitors with dogs have been. Fresh water bowls are always full, the field offers plenty of space to roam, and cleanup has been spotless. Our furry friends are just as much a part of this market as anyone else.

Looking Ahead

As we head into the second half of the season, we’re excited to continue building on this strong foundation. We’ll keep listening, adjusting, and showing up for each other—because the Mashpee Farmers Market is more than just a place to shop. It’s a place to gather, grow, and belong.

Thank you for being part of our very first season. Let’s keep making it extraordinary—together.

Things we know that are working

Our vendor/customer relationships have been a resounding success: With over 35 regular and 25 rotating vendors, we’ve been able to serve our community with a diverse range of fresh food, produce, meat, seafood, flowers, scones, cookies, cakes, pies, and beer. The food has come from all corners of Massachusetts, a testament to our strong partnerships.

Entertainment—Thanks to Naukabout Beer Garden for keeping the live and local acts coming to play for everyone every week. We have had young and old acts perform for us, and it is a joyful market.

Kids—Oplaysis has consistently offered our kids a place to come and just be kids. Whether it’s pay what you can or just a simple ‘thank you,’ life at the market is all about joy and simplicity for our kids.

The Mashpee Community: You have made this volunteer position joyful by getting up, making lemonade, picking up honey, and hosting every Sunday morning. Thank you for making this worthwhile!

Dogs: We LOVE our furry friends! We have fresh water and a field to play in, and our owners have been beyond respectful of cleaning up.
